Marceau Schlumberger is the board chairman at Western Exploration and has a long history of resource and equity work. He specializes in gold and silver mining, oil development, natural resources, healthcare services, and defense. Schlumberger most recently founded Coral Reef Capital, and was also a principal of Columbus Nova, a private equity and credit manager. Prior to Columbus Schlumberger was an associate with Triumph Capital, an investment banking analyst at Smith Barney, and an investment professional at Zilkha Capital Partners.

In addition to Western Exploration, Schlumberger also currently serves on the board of directors of Shawnee Oil Company, Krewe Energy, Rawhide Mining, and ROC Service Company.

Schlumberger received a bachelor of arts degree from Yale University and a masters of business administration from The Wharton School.

Brian Kennedy is the lead director of Western and a stalwart in the mining industry. He’s spent more than 40 years as a director, president, chief operating officer, and chairman of multiple resource management companies including Meridian Gold, FMC Gold, Argonaut LLC, and NV Energy. With a background that includes the U.S. Naval Academy, Harvard University, and a fellow at the Desert Research Institute, Kennedy is a well-rounded director who has brought a wealth of knowledge and strategic acumen to Western Exploration since 2008.

Gerard Munera is a board director for Western Exploration. He has built a storied career serving in CEO, president and chairman roles at resource companies on five continents including Latin America Gold, Arcadia Inc., DMC Global, Union Mineier, Minorco and more. Munera currently serves as the chairman of iSign International, an internet security company, and manager of Synergex Group LLC. He also has extensive experience in business and economic development.

Munera is trilingual in English, Spanish and French, and has been professionally affiliated with the European Mining Association, Federation des Entreprises Electrometallurgiques et Electrochimiques , Aluminum Association, and Federacion de Metales No Ferrosos.

Nicolas Schlumberger has more than 30 years’ experience in international finance, a master’s degree in mining and metallurgy and spent 20 years as an entrepreneur working in China with multiple resource and tech companies. He is also president and CEO of ScreenCell, a French biotech company, and sits on the board for other energy and capital enterprises.

John Rogers is a board director for Western Exploration. He is also a U.S. corporate attorney with more than 24 years of experience with venture capital and private equity. Rogers is presently the general counsel and business development director (North America) for the Ambassador Theatre Group.  Additionally, he serves as a legal and strategic advisor to Coral Reef Capital and has previously been a partner with Pepper Hamilton LLP and with Herrick Feinstein LLP.

Rogers earned his juris doctorate at St. John’s University School of Law and a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University at Albany, State University of New York.

Darcy Marud is the CEO of Western Exploration Inc, a Nevada-based precious metals exploration company. Prior to Western, he served as the Senior VP of Exploration at Yamana Gold and Executive Vice President – Enterprise Strategy. He was with Yamana for 10 years.

With more than 30 years of precious metals experience in the Americas, Marud held previous senior exploration roles with Homestake Mining Company, FMC Gold Company, and Meridian Gold Inc. He has been involved in the discovery and development of significant precious metals deposits including El Penon in Chile; Mercedes in Mexico; and Pilar and Corpo Sul (Chapada) in Brazil.

Marud is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with an honors bachelor of science degree in geology. He is an active member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario.
